In this video, Adam will explore the origin of the concept of land ownership primarily in England and Wales. Referencing squatters and the Land Registration Act of 2002 and featuring case studies to illustrate the law of Adverse Possession.

Focusing on freehold ownership we will be looking at the various qualities of title available, and the impact of those classes on how we deal with using and transferring real property.

This comprehensive session will delve into what it means to hold land as Possessory Title and Qualified Title; as well as think about whether Title Absolute is as it implies and what third-party rights may interrupt this.

Adam will also talk you through how a legal indemnity underwriter approaches offering cover and provide some examples of claims on our policy coverage.

By the end, you will have a better understanding of the pitfalls of proving land ownership.
