Alison Howe

Alison Howe studied Clinical Pharmacology and on graduation joined the medical department of Merck Sharp and Dohme, UK, and subsequently AstraZeneca. This initiated a career in the pharmaceutical industry which has spanned roles in clinical trial management, marketing, team leadership and senior management. She then founded two international medical education companies providing consulting services and educational programs for doctors and other healthcare professionals. This focused on new drug entities and their evolving place in clinical practice. She was the Managing Director of both companies for 25 years.

Since 2013, Alison has been involved as a volunteer in several of Cancer Research UK’s activities: membership of the Research Careers Committee for the selection of early / mid-career Fellowships; a mentor on the Women of Influence program and supporter of the CRUK’s PACE program and member of the Global Campaign Leadership Committee. In 2020 Alison was elected a Member of CRUK .
