Criminal Law Updates from October
This presentation is the 10th in what will be a monthly presentation examining important documents that I have been reading in a given month.
I shall choose documents of relevance and importance to anyone involved in the area of criminal law – each presentation will last for 30 minutes and will give you the ‘distilled essence’ of the documents considered – all of the actual documents will also be available for you to read at your leisure as part of the presentation material provided.
This presentation will cover 15 documents in total – here are just 3 examples of the things you will learn about
1 – The documents published by the Ministry of Justice concerning recoverable costs under a Defendant’s Costs Order for proceedings in the Magistrates’ Court and for proceedings in the Crown Court
2 – The Explanatory Notes on the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2023
3 – The piloting in certain courts of amendments to Youth Rehabilitation Orders by way of Intensive Supervision and Surveillance
