Assessment of costs, charging clauses and residuary beneficiaries refusing to approve estate accounts

Dealing with estate costs, charging clauses and residuary beneficiaries can present a range of challenges for Private Client practitioners.

In this live webinar, Professor Lesley King will examine these issues, including the implications of Kenig v Thomson Snell and Passmore LLP and how the decision has changed Costs judges’ approach to applications by residuary beneficiaries for the assessment of costs under section 71(3) of the Solicitors Act 1974.

Lesley will also consider who can charge under a charging clause, whether a professional can charge where no charging clause exists, and how to deal with beneficiaries who refuse to approve estate accounts.

This webinar is essential viewing for all Private Client practitioners.
