This presentation will focus on how the essentials of drafting a Re A compliant Threshold and how to manage (or test) the Local Authority’s most fundamental statement of case.
This presentation will focus on the fundamental importance of a properly drafted Threshold document but also examine the evidential requirements for the Local Authority to prove its case and for those representing parents to ensure that the Local Authority’s case is properly tested on the evidence.
The aim is to help practitioners on both sides draft tight, effective Threshold documents and keep the focus of every public law case tightly focussed on the issues required and hopefully avoid unnecessary delay and drift as well as helping those representing parents ensure that the case against their client is properly defined and proportionate to the issues.
