The UK prides itself on the high quality of its education, attracting individuals from around the world to study, develop their skills and contribute to the UK’s academic community.  But what happens once those students complete their studies?

Recent international graduates seeking employment, employers looking to recruit graduate talent, and institutions advising students all need to understand the immigration routes available and the requirements that must be met to take advantage of them.

This webinar explores the key routes available to international graduates wishing to work in the UK, together with the immigration requirements, sponsorship obligations and practical considerations that employers, advisers and educational institutions need to understand. It will also highlight the pitfalls that are common in this field and address steps to take to avoid those risks.

This webinar will also provide a practical overview of the immigration routes available to international graduates wishing to work in the UK, covering the Graduate Visa, Skilled Worker Visa, Global Talent, Innovator Founder, High Potential Individual (HPI) and Scale-up Worker routes. It will also explain the sponsorship requirements facing employers, including who needs sponsorship, the different types of sponsor licence, which businesses are eligible to sponsor graduates and the applicable salary requirements.

This webinar is essential for student advisors, HR professionals and lawyers advising businesses on graduate sponsorship

Intermediate - some previous knowledge or awareness required

  • Who is eligible for different types of visa
  • Which organisations can sponsor graduates
  • The process for applying and sponsoring graduates
  • Best practice with endorsements
  • Where are the risks and how to avoid them

The Graduate route is an unsponsored route which allows international graduates access to the UK labour market for up to 2 years (3 years if you have a doctorate).

Success in obtaining endorsement is vital in both Global Talent and Innovator founder Routes. The current success rate is significantly higher where there is active involvement from the universities and research institutions in procuring endorsement.

For recent UK graduates entering the labour market, the salary requirements in both Graduate and Skilled Worker Routes are lower than those for other overseas hires.
