One issue that continues to arise in Conveyancing matters is seller fraud – where individuals pretend to own properties they have never even seen, instruct solicitors to act for them, complete the transaction and then run off with the cash.

This puts the buyer's solicitors in an invidious position. As the cash (now irrecoverable) has disappeared, they may find themselves in breach of trust to their own clients and liable to replace the entire consideration.

However, recent changes to the Rules and the Protocols mean there may now be some chance of recovery against the seller's solicitors.

This webinar will explore the practical steps that both buyer's and seller's solicitors should be taking to minimise the risks.
