Criminal Law – Updates from March

This presentation is the 4th in what will be a monthly presentation examining important documents that I have been reading in a given month – I shall choose documents of relevance and importance to anyone involved in the area of criminal law – each presentation will last for 30 minutes and will give you the ‘distilled essence of the documents considered – all of the actual documents, or a link to the document, will also be available for you to read at your leisure as part of the presentation material provided.

This presentation will cover 13 documents/links in total – here are just 3 examples of the things you will learn.

• My paper summarises the main provisions of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021.
• Statutory Instrument 2023 No. 150 dealing with both civil and criminal legal aid for Domestic Abuse Protection Notices and Domestic Abuse Protection Orders.
• The document published by the Sentencing Council – Overarching Principles – the Sentencing of Children and Young People.
