Sponsor management is a core component of many HR teams. Businesses, large and small, require licences to sponsor workers from overseas and have considerable duties to ensure compliance with their obligations under those licences. Since July 2024, immigration compliance has become a clear priority for the government, and licence revocations are at a record high. As a result, now more than ever it is essential that HR teams and legal adviser working with them receive regular training on compliance duties.

This course will cover the formalities of applying for a licence:

  • Types of licence
  • Eligible businesses
  • Key personnel
  • Who needs sponsorship

It will also address key components of the compliance duties:

  • Right to work checks
  • Relevant salaries for various categories
  • What to do when a role or salary changes
  • How to manage absences
  • Record keeping
  • Relevant Immigration laws

Aimed at HR professionals and those advising businesses on sponsor duties, this course will cover recent changes in the Immigration Rules and guidance as are relevant to sponsorship and compliance. The course will also highlight the pitfalls that are common in this field and address steps to take to avoid those risks.
