Placement orders looking at the issues of:

  • The standard of analysis required in a judgment making a placement order.
  • Whether the child is a party to an application for leave to apply to revoke a placement order
  • Whether the change of position of a family member in seeking to put themselves forward to care for a child could be a change of circumstances sufficient to open the door to leave being granted.
  • The necessity for experts reports in placement order applications.

Parties to proceedings and their representation looking at:

  • The role of a biological father without parental responsibility in care proceedings.
  • Separate representation of children.

Jurisdiction and the 1996 Hague Convention, looking at the importance of determining whether the Court has jurisdiction in cases with an international element and guidance on the application of the 1996 Hague Convention in care proceedings.
