Ask a Question

This is a 60 minute lecture on how we can assist vulnerable witnesses in the family jurisdiction, be they adults or children. They can be victims or just in need of assistance or support. The lecture considers the relevant changes which have been made and which will be made through the Domestic Abuse Act 2020. We explore the FPR 2010, ground rules and participation directions and the relevant jurisprudence. We also consider these in the context of children giving evidence and the use of intermediaries in private law proceedings. The lecture also considers practical tips for vulnerable witnesses and how we can assist them to achieve their best evidence.
